Several years ago, at an estate sale, I ran across a couple of those fun little diaries that banks used to give out, dated 1928 and 1930.
They were written by a young lady, who I'll call Eleanor (although her real name is listed in the diary), growing up near the Akron area. She detailed both the interesting and the mundane details of life in the late 1920s.
September 6, 1928
Rained today.
Took Dorothy downtown to a bowling meeting tonight - then came home and cut out my new rose crepe-sateen dress.
